Love to dance and so does she!

So its crystal clear to all of you… my life is far from perfect.  I’ve only “begun” to live my best life.  Constantly still making mistakes, even now, but learning and growing can’t happen without them.  There are problems, lots of them.  Some within control, and some – not somuch. But what I CAN control how I let those things affect me.  Can you tell this girls’ been through the ringer, let down unbelievably bad by someone she truly believed in (yes today!), and really, completely feel clueless?  Ha, well its true.  Ya, even though still kinda devastatedly shocked, I’ve still got love in my life and damn it I’m gonna live.  Everything isn’t exactly where it should be yet, but still going in the right direction.

Dancing Mediterranean Style on a Saturday Night in Chicago

IMG_4268 - Copy

Have you ever danced in an exotic, elegant, European-style line?

They are so subtly sensual.. stepping so gracefully over and over the same steps, while twisting and turning in an ever-growing line of others, big and small… never before had I the guts to just jump right in one, until tonight…. and even managing a couple of pics while doing it. Continue reading

We Were Just Going to See a Band Tonight

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Not sure what I was expecting, or even if I wanted to go out, when we went to see this fun band I blogged about seeing couple years back.  My friend had been here before, but I hadn’t gone to any of the new casino places in Rosemont Des Plaines since it was built (nor had I any desire), till tonight, I guess.  When we finally parked, walked, got a drink and settled in a spot, I looked around and thought I’d entered The Twilight Zone.   Continue reading

Another week goes by as life persists on sucking summer out of the way to make room for back-to-school items

Hope it was a Happy Friendship Day for you yesterday. I’d like to tell a truth.

I did run a few times this week, but my heart and desire for it are no where near where they should be. A lot has happened to me since the marathon.   Just when you get to the place where you finally think nothing can touch you, something will come, touch you, then knock you the hell off your pedestal.

After the 4th of July, summer is NOT over. Just want to make that clear

I hope everyone is having a great summer so far! Someone once said to me.. “after the 4th of July, its like summer is over”.…IDTS! I hate that phrase, because HELLO still 2 months left! To me, Its just begun, and I must say during the first month and a half, I’ve spent more time with friends and grandbaby doing so many fun, social and crazy things I’d of had a jam packed summer if it was over now. (Thank God its not!) I am so grateful and blessed to have these people… but there have been other things,  missing my love, family ill, being a rock for my friends when I feel like sand… weighing me down still and keeping me in bad habits and not running… and I have a marathon to train for. (10/12/14, let the countdown begin)

Where I Have Been

Hello all, I am back and hopefully getting back on track.   Where have I been?  Well, my nice, simple life got a little less simple since I last posted, and I’ve had to do some major readjusting.  Finally I think I’m getting the hang of it.  You see, it all started when I went to this festival “Retro on Roscoe” with my friends Maria and Jenna and their guys.

Here is me and a few of the sites I saw at one of the many wonderful festivals Chicago’s neighborhoods put on during the summer:
